Board President

Missy Hail

My husband, Luke, and I have been married for 25 years.  God has blessed us with 4 wonderful children.  We are members of St. Agnes Church in Ft Wright, KY.  By training, I am a Physical Therapist but have had the joy and privilege of being able to stay home with my children for the last 16 years.  In those years, I have advocated for my daughter with Down syndrome in many different ways.  My daughter proudly graduates from St. Henry District High School this year. The FIRE Foundation of NKY will allow me to continue to advocate for Inclusive Education in our Catholic schools.  Everyone benefits.

Janie Zembrodt

My name is Janie Zembrodt.  My husband and I are parishioners at St. Joseph Parish in Crescent Springs.  I have served on various School Boards, and besides family, my main passions in life are my Catholic faith and teaching kids how to learn!  I have been a private tutor for over ten years, was a homeschool teacher, and am currently teaching 8th grade Religion.  Along with my husband and our children, we have many learning challenges that have kept us from discovering our full God-given potential.  With the help of the Holy Spirit, I am determined to ignite the fire in all teachers, administration, parishes, parents, and especially our students to receive whatever help they need to succeed and utilize their God-given gifts to set the world on fire!

Mary Kay Laird

My husband Jim and I are the proud parents of 3 adult children.  I grew up in Northern Kentucky and am a lifelong parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Parish, graduate of Notre Dame Academy and Xavier University. Our oldest son with Down Syndrome is why I am so passionate about the FIRE Foundation and the work we do to make Catholic education accessible to people of all abilities. Our children were not able to attend the same schools which was difficult for us as parents and as a family.

They are each uniquely made in God's image with beautiful abilities and challenges. We are parishioners at All Saints in Walton. Professionally, I have intermittently provided direct care for adults with intellectual disabilities for 25 years.
